  • 2 pieces Cardstock (or Thick paper)
  • 1 pair Scissors

  1. Use a ruler and pen to create squares on each piece of cardstock. You will need 26 squares on each pieces of cardstock.
  2. Write one uppercase letter in each square until you have completed the alphabet. Repeat with the lowercase letters on the second piece of cardstock.
  3. Cut out the squares.
  4. Mix up the squares and give to the child.
  5. Ask the child to match each uppercase letter with it's lowercase letter.
Use two colors of cardstock, one color for the uppercase letters and another color for the lowercase letters.
1. Supervise an older child in cutting the squares by himself.
2. Review the sound that each letter makes.
3. Instead of using letters, create squares with a sight word in each one.
