Song

Verse 1:
In my little garden bed,
Raked so nicely over,
First I plant the little seeds,
Then with dirt I cover.

Shining down the great, bright sun,
Smiles upon it often.
Little raindrops pattering down,
Help the seeds to soften.

Verse 2:
Now my little plant awakes,
Down the roots go creeping.
Up it pops its little head,
through the brown dirt peeping.

High and higher still it goes,
Through the summer hours,
Till some happy day the buds,
Open into flowers.

Act It Out
Verse 1:
In my little garden bed, [make a circle in front of you with your arms]
Raked so nicely over, [rake with the fingers of one hand]
First I plant the little seeds, ["plant" seeds]
Then with dirt I cover. [cover with one hand]

Shining down the great, bright sun, [make your arms into a big circle above your head]
Smiles upon it often.
Little raindrops pattering down, [sprinkle down your fingers like rain]
Help the seeds to soften.

Verse 2:
Now my little plant awakes,
Down the roots go creeping. [point your fingers downward and wiggle]
Up it pops its little head, [make a thumbs-up for the plant]
through the brown dirt peeping.

High and higher still it goes, [wiggle your upward-pointing thumb high into the air]
Through the summer hours,
Till some happy day the buds,
Open into flowers. [open your hands up like flowers]
