  1. Prior to activity beginning, draw simple number outlines for use with this activity. You can do this by hand or on a computer.
  2. Begin by asking children to tear construction paper into small pieces,
  3. Give each child a number outline, glue stick, and some torn construction paper.
  4. Demonstrate how to glue the torn paper inside the number outline. Take a minute to discuss the difference between inside the outline and outside the outline.
  5. Watch and provide help as needed as children complete activity.
  6. Allow to dry at least 15 minutes.
For younger children, tear paper in advance.
For older children, use numbers greater than 10.
Associated Activity
After number art is dried, have each child name his or her number and count to that number. Then, have children arrange themselves in number order.
